If you develop diabetes during pregnancy, this condition is what you call “temporary diabetes” or gestational diabetes. Here are the following symptoms of diabetes for pregnant mothers:
1. Unusual thirst
You may notice unusual thirst, frequent bathroom visits due to increased urination. Frequent and increased urination usually is one of the early pregnancy symptoms and may occur during the first trimester. However, if you experience this continuously after the first three months of your pregnancy alongside with recurring thirst, tell your concerns to your doctor right away.
2. Gestational Diabetes Test
The best way to determine if you have temporary diabetes is through a series of gestational diabetes tests. Regular prenatal urine tests will show if you have sugar in your urine. Doctors will then recommend that you undergo diabetes screening. Gestational diabetes test usually requires you to drink a soda or any high-sugar drink and take a blood sample one to two hours later.

Stick to your diet to keep your blood sugar level within safe levels.
3. Monitor your medications
If your blood sugar can no longer be controlled with exercise or diet-programs, your doctor will prescribe you to take insulin injections during your pregnancy. This can be done at home however you need to make sure that you follow directions exactly for administration and dosage to ensure that your baby is safe from any side-effects.
