Early Signs of Pregnancy
Here is a list of common signs and symptoms of pregnancy. Listed below are the common patterns a woman may experience if she is pregnant. But since every pregnancy is unique on its own, an expecting mom may or may not experience some of the signs or symptoms on the list.
1. Menstrual Delay
This is your first clue. Some women have irregular menstrual cycles and you may probably think you just missed another month. However, if you are sexually active and you just had a previous sexual intercourse you can take instant pregnancy tests just to make sure. If you have a regular cycle and your period is 1 to 2 weeks late, and you had sexual intercourse previously, you might be pregnant. Another indication is a decreased menstrual flow.
2. Breast Sensitivity
When a woman is pregnant there will be a lot of changes in her body that she will notice. One of these is breast tenderness. If you are feeling a tingling sensation, fullness or even pain in your breast and your nipples feels very sensitive to any pressure; this could also be an indicator that you might be expecting.
3. Morning Sickness
Morning sickness doesn’t always occur in the morning. For other pregnant women, nausea and vomiting can occur any time of the day. Morning sickness can occur several days after you missed your period.
4. Fatigue
Episodes of fatigue and stress and low energy level can also be one of the symptoms of early pregnancy.
5. Changes in Your Skin
Since pregnancy brings about hormonal changes, it doesn’t only change your moods but it can also increase oiliness in your skin. Hormonal changes can also increase the production of melanin. This may cause a dark vertical line extending down from your navel. You may also notice darkening of nipples, and dark patches on your face.
6. Back Pains
If you are experiencing stiffness on your back, or you are feeling restless due to dull pain in your back accompanied with other symptoms mentioned in this list, this can be a sign of pregnancy.
7. Craving for Something to Eat (Food Cravings)
If you unusually want to eat something, craving for foods even when you are not hungry can also be an indicator.
8. Frequent Bathroom Visits. (Frequent Urination)
This is due to hormonal changes and this symptom added to other signs mentioned above may assure whether you are pregnant.
If you think you are pregnant, even if the home pregnancy test result shows you are negative, consult your doctor right away. Though most over-the-counter home pregnancy kits are almost 100% accurate in providing results, there are still a possibility that your health condition or any medication you take may trigger a false result to the pregnancy test.
In order to make sure, have a check up if you are thinking you might be pregnant. Your doctor can confirm your pregnancy and calculate your due date as well. Talking to your doctor, you will also be informed on the stages of pregnancy and what to expect on the coming crucial months.
